Welcome to Denver Educational Senior Citizens, Incorporated (DESCI)

Thank you for your interest in DESCI Apartments. Established in 1963 as a non-profit organization, DESCI apartments is a unique retirement community for school employees 55 years or older. DESCI is overseen by a volunteer Board of Trustees made up of current and retired DPS employees who are dedicated to DESCI's Mission.


Other persons are welcome to submit an application for residency, however the application will be processed in accordance with its placement into one of our four priority groupings, namely:

  1. A Denver Public School (DPS) Retiree
  2. A current employee of the DPS or an immediate family member of current or retired DPS employee
  3. A person who once worked for DPS or has worked in the field of education
  4. All other applicants

We are more than just an apartment building. DESCI is a community of people that share a common history of working for the schools. Every resident is automatically a member of the DESCI Resident Council. The Council is committed to providing an enriching environment in which to live by providing a variety of fun Activities.

DESCi also offers many Amenities and Services for its residents.

Our units are varied. We have buffet, small one bedroom, large one bedroom and two bedroom apartments.
